A quick guide to your hours, expected pay and recorded money.
What is TallyWage useful for?
Track shifts, understand paid hours, estimate monthly earnings and compare them with your payslip. You can also record private payments, expenses and bills in one place.
Will I receive the wage shown?
Not necessarily. TallyWage calculates an estimate from what you enter. It does not pay wages, approve timesheets or establish a legal claim against an employer. Check the estimate against your contract and payslip.
How do I get started?
Tap Start on the hello screen and choose how to begin: the demo (a sample month you can only look at), an account (password-protected, confirmed by an email code) or guest mode (everything stays on this device). Then choose your language and payroll country, enter your hourly rate and break policy, and save your profile. Add a shift with its date, start, end and breaks.
Can I track more than one job?
Yes. Open Settings → Manage jobs → Add job, then choose a main job, side job or private work. Each job has its own pay settings. Select the correct job when entering a shift or payment. A side-job label does not set its tax treatment.
How do shifts, breaks and overtime work?
Mark actual shifts as worked and future shifts as planned. Only unpaid break minutes reduce paid time. Set paid-break allowances and overtime rules to match your agreement; the app cannot check them with your employer. Review overnight shifts and clock changes carefully.
Can I set a different rate for Saturdays and Sundays?
Yes. In the job settings, enter a Saturday rate and/or a Sunday rate under Saturday and Sunday. A new shift on one of those days starts with that rate; other days keep the normal hourly rate. The rate is chosen by the shift's start date, so a Saturday night shift that ends on Sunday keeps the Saturday rate unless you change it. You can still edit the rate on any single shift, and saved shifts keep the rate they were saved with.
How do a monthly salary and the hours balance work?
Open Settings → Manage jobs → Edit job and choose Monthly salary as the payment type. Enter your monthly gross wage, your contract hours per month and, if your contract pays overtime only above a higher number of hours, that threshold. Shifts then record time only: each month with recorded shifts adds its paid time minus the contract hours to your hours balance (Stundenkonto). Months without any recorded shift are skipped, planned shifts are ignored, and paid leave counts as paid time. An opening balance lets you carry in the balance you already had.
The overtime rate is the monthly wage divided by the basis hours (176 by default; use 173.33 or your contract hours if that is what your payroll uses), multiplied by your pay multiplier. Hours above the monthly threshold are shown at that rate as an estimate of what they would be worth. Whether your employer pays them out or gives time off is a matter of your contract, not something the app can decide. The wage itself is counted once per month with recorded shifts for the gross and net estimate.
What do "Your pace", the first-week checklist and the bill reminders show?
"Your pace" on the Overview adds up what you have worked and earned so far this month, what is still planned, and what a few more hours would add at your normal hourly rate — a random number between 8 and 40, picked fresh each day (tap "Try another number" for a different one), with a net line from the same tax profile as the Pay tab. For a monthly salary it shows what those hours do to your balance and, above your overtime threshold, what they are worth at the overtime rate. It is an estimate to plan with, before weekend or overtime extras and special payments; it is not a promise of pay. "Compared with last month" puts this month so far next to the whole of the previous month.
The first-week checklist appears until you have a few shifts and ticks itself off: first shift, a schedule read from a screenshot, an account or backup. Bill reminders appear on the Overview when a recurring bill is overdue or due within seven days; record the payment in Money and the reminder disappears.
What is gross, net and forecast pay?
Gross is pay before tax and employee deductions. Net is a supported estimate after those deductions. Forecast includes planned work, so it can change. None of these amounts confirms that money has reached your bank.
Why is no net amount available?
TallyWage estimates only supported 2026 payroll cases for Kosovo and Germany. Other countries, years and unsupported situations keep gross tracking without a guessed net figure. Multiple jobs are not combined into a complete tax calculation.
How do I add private income or a fixed payment?
Open Money → Add private income. Enter the work description, amount received and date, then save. You can record a different amount each time, such as €100 for one task and €200 for another. No hourly shift is needed.
To organize repeated payments by job, open Settings → Manage jobs → Add job, choose Private work and Fixed payment, then save the job. You can link payments to that job. Private income appears in Money and does not generate an employee net-pay calculation.
Does Money show my bank balance?
No. Record income when you receive it, then add expenses, bills and any tax reserve you choose. The recorded remainder is based on those entries. TallyWage does not connect to your bank, move money or decide which income is taxable.
How do I use the app on another phone?
Sign in on the other device with your email and password. If you have no password yet or forgot it, choose the email-code option: enter the newest six-digit code within ten minutes, then set a new password. On a first sign-in, choose whether to move your device records into the empty account, and wait until the app says they are saved to your account before switching devices.
Can I use it offline or without an account?
Yes, for local records and calculations. Guest history stays on that device. Account changes made offline need a successful sync later; keep the app open with a connection until saved. Sign-out waits for sync and removes the account cache from that device.
What is the demo, and what is guest mode?
The demo is a sample month you can browse: Overview, Calendar, Pay and Money with made-up shifts, bills and payments. Nothing in the demo can be added, edited, exported or saved, and it has no account or subscription features; it only shows how the app looks and works. Leave it with Get started.
Guest mode is the full app without an account. Your records stay on this device only and are never uploaded, so export backups and create an account before changing phones; the app then offers to move your device records into the new account.
How do passwords and email codes work together?
An account has a password and a confirmed email address. Creating an account means choosing a password, then entering the six-digit code we email you; the code proves the address is yours, and the password is saved right after. Sign in with email and password. If you forget the password, or your account was created before passwords existed, choose the email-code option: after the code you are asked to set a new password.
Passwords must have at least 8 characters and are stored by our authentication provider only as a salted hash; nobody at TallyWage can read them. Keep your email account secure too, because a code sent there still opens the account.
How do backups and recovery work?
Open Settings → Tools & backups to export a JSON backup or restore one. Restoring replaces the active history, so export the current version first. Backups are unencrypted files: keep them private. Clearing browser storage or uninstalling can lose guest records and unsynced changes.
Can I import a schedule or payslip screenshot?
For a single day, open the shift (Add shift or tap an existing one) and use Read times from a screenshot: choose a screenshot of your shift planner, a note or a message, and the start, end and break minutes are filled in for you to check. If the image contains several days, the row matching the shift's date is chosen and you can tap another one. For a whole schedule, open Settings → Tools & backups → Import schedule. For a payslip, open Pay → Enter payslip → Read screenshot. Review every extracted date, time, break and amount before saving. Image reading runs on your device. Browser recognition downloads language files and software, so its first use needs internet.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Your account → Delete account. Read the warning, request a new email code and confirm permanent deletion. This removes the sign-in account and active cloud history. Export a backup first if you want one. Copies on offline devices, your exported files and provider backups are not all erased instantly.
What is the difference between deleting data and deleting my account?
Delete all data clears the active history; when signed in it also clears that history on synchronized devices but keeps your login account. Delete account removes the login account and its active cloud history. Signing out only removes the downloaded account copy on this device.
What will TallyWage cost?
The current service remains free. Paid plans are not open yet, and using the app does not start a subscription or authorize a charge.
Launch offer: everyone who buys during the first three calendar months after paid plans open pays €1.99 per month, €14.99 per year or €29.99 once for lifetime access; a subscription started in that window keeps its launch price for as long as it stays active. Afterwards the standard prices apply to new purchases: €2.99 per month, €19.99 per year, €50 once. The standard prices are future prices, not prices that were charged before. The annual amount is paid in one charge. Prices are in euros and include applicable taxes; the price, billing interval and next payment date are shown before you confirm a purchase.
How does the launch offer work?
The launch offer is a window, not a free trial: for the first three calendar months after paid plans open, every purchase is made at the launch price. A monthly or annual subscription started in that window keeps its launch price while it stays active; if it ends and you subscribe again after the window, the standard price applies. Lifetime access bought in the window is one payment at the launch price. There is no free period and nothing is charged before you confirm a purchase.
The offer end date is shown on the plans screen once paid plans open. The next payment date and the renewal amount appear at checkout and in your subscription details.
What does lifetime access include?
Lifetime access is planned as a single €29.99 launch payment, with no subscription renewal. The planned standard price after the launch offer is €50; this is a future price, not a claim about a previously charged price.
It covers the TallyWage service included in your purchase for as long as that service is provided. It does not promise that the service will exist forever or include every separate future product. Your statutory rights if the service is defective or discontinued remain unchanged.
What is included in Pro, and what stays free?
Free stays free: shifts with breaks, the gross and net pay estimate, one job, the month overview, manual planning and local backups. Pro adds cloud history on every device, screenshot reading of your shift plan, the PDF timesheet export, more than one job (including monthly-salary jobs with an hours balance and weekend rates), Money with bills, budget and payment reminders, and the "Your pace" and month-comparison cards.
Until paid plans open, everything is free to use. When they open, your records stay yours whatever you choose: nothing is deleted, exported or held back; Pro features simply wait until a plan is active.
How will I cancel a subscription?
When web subscriptions open, use Settings → Subscription → View plans → Cancel subscription, or Manage subscription for the payment provider's customer portal. Cancel before the next payment date to stop the next renewal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period; mandatory rights to an earlier end or refund remain available.
Deleting records, signing out or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Manage any subscription before deleting your account. For billing, cancellation, withdrawal or refund questions, contact shiftpay.info@gmail.com.
Can I pay through the App Store or Google Play?
In-app purchases through the App Store and Google Play are not available in the current version. If store purchases are introduced, their price, trial terms and management instructions will be shown in the relevant store purchase flow.
